SP Lower Wheel Modules and Accessories

Seamtek offers the following standard accessories for the SP Technical Pattern Seam Sealer. If you don’t see what you need, contact Seamtek as we can custom design almost anything that you need to make your production or R&D better.

Pedestal

The Pedestal is the workhorse of the three LWMs. It is excellent for several types of welds such as overlaps, butt joints, hems of all forms, and prayer welds. The Pedestal can be fitted with wheels ranging in width from 1/4" to 2.5". The Pedestal as well as the rest of the LWMs has it’s own computer controlled stepper motor to drive the weld wheels. All of the LWM stepper motors are automatically activated when the LWM is moved into the operating position.

Side Arm

Pictured here the Side Arm is in the welding position and the Pedestal is stored. This change over is completed in seconds. The Side Arm is primarily used for welding tubes together end to end. For instances, welding a boot to the leg of a pair of fishing waders. The Side Arm supports all wheel types sold by Seamtek.

Quick Arm

The Quick Arm is designed for making long continuous tubes ranging in diameter from 2" to an unlimited diameter using an overlap weld. It also works well for joining large panels together. Another version of the quick arm can do butt joints. It's also great for installing a cap in the end of a tube before it is formed, which is good for bags.

Tape Delivery System

If your planning to seam seal sewn seams or use a butt joint of any form, then the Tape Delivery System (TDS) is a must. The TDS is comprised of 3 components: Spool Holder, Tensioner, and Adjustable Guide. It can support tape width ranging from 1/4" to 2.5". An automatic tape cutter can be added for maximum production speed.

Wheels and Nozzles

Seamtek has designed the SP to create a wide variety of seams. Therefore a wide variety of wheels and nozzles are readily available for the SP machines. Wheels and nozzles can be changed in a matter of minutes. Wheel sizes range in widths from 1/4" to 2.5". Wheel types include all stainless steel and silicone in 3 different durometers. Any of these wheels can have any surface profiles milled into them such as grooves or concave/convex contours.

Software

Due to the on board SmartSeal™ computer control, the SP can control a variety of external systems to be synchronized with the welding process of the SP. For instance: motorized material handling, automatic slitters/cutting systems, printing and marking systems, data logging, etc.
